Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Shipfitter to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a Shipfitter, you will be responsible for fabricating templates, squaring plates, and installing prefabricated foundations on ships in accordance with drawings and specifications.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience working with structural drawings, welding, and using hand and power tools safely. You will be working on Naval Bases & Shipyards, 6:00am-2:30pm, with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Fabrication: Cut out existing structures as required by the drawings or specifications, or as directed by the supervisor.
  • Construction: Construct templates and fabricate foundations or other structures.
  • Installation: Install prefabricated foundations and structures in accordance with drawings and specifications.
Requirements
  • Experience: Must have experience working on shipyards, with a comprehensive understanding of ship repair terminology and ship compartment location nomenclature.
  • Safety: Must comply with OSHA & NAVSEA standards.
Compensation

$28.00-$40.00 per hour, paid sick leave, paid holidays, and health insurance are offered.

This is a full-time position, available immediately.
