Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Loss Prevention Associate 2nd Shift/Weekends to join our team at Michaels Arts and Crafts. As a key member of our Loss Prevention team, you will be responsible for protecting our assets and ensuring the safety of our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control and monitor trailer and automobile traffic, ensuring proper documentation and load security.
  • Maintain and manage card access, badge systems, building key control, and equipment key systems.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, documenting them in incident/accident reports.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly audits and tasks to ensure safety and security.
  • Support the "After Hours" program, receiving calls and communicating with retail stores regarding delivery issues.
  • Respond to medical and other emergencies, providing first aid and assistance when needed.
  • Monitor fire, intrusion, and access control systems, responding to alarms and notifying appropriate individuals and agencies.
  • Maintain safety awareness programs and resolve safety concerns.
  • Assist in safety orientations for new team members, informing them of Michaels' safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional related training/certification is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn other related systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, strong phone communication skills, and general understanding of Distribution Center workflow and building layout.
  • Flexible to work overtime before and after shift as needed.
Preferred Experience
  • 1+ years of related experience, providing support to an organization of similar scope and complexity.
Work Environment
  • This position is based in a climate-controlled office but will have regular exposure to the warehouse, featuring extreme temperatures and moderate noise levels.
