About the Role
We are seeking an Information Security Analyst - Threat Detection Specialist to join our NGA DEFENDER Cybersecurity Risk Management team. The successful candidate will execute the risk management framework (RMF) in accordance with NIST SP 800-37 R2 and NGA's RMF Implementation Guide for all NGA-authorized systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Conducting assessments of systems and networks within the network environment or enclave to identify vulnerabilities and deviations from acceptable configurations.
- Developing measures of effectiveness for defense-in-depth architectures against known vulnerabilities.
- Identifying systemic security issues based on vulnerability and configuration data analysis.
- Applying programming language structures and logic to source code review.
- Sharing insights about the context of an organization's threat environment to improve its risk management posture.
- Applying cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements related to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technically relevant field (or equivalent certifications like Sec+, GICSP, Cloud+, GCED, PenTest+, or GSEC).
- Knowledge of Government standards for data security, including markings, handling of classified and unclassified information, and distribution protocols.
- Knowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, and security methodologies, as well as risk management processes and laws, regulations, policies, and ethics related to cybersecurity and privacy.
- Familiarity with cyber threats and vulnerabilities, operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses, cryptography, and cryptographic key management concepts.
- TS/SCI eligibility, subject to CI Polygraph.
- IAM or IAT Level 2 certification.
Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
