Dietary Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at Gallup Nursing & Rehabilitation. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing exceptional food service and maintaining a clean and safe dining environment.

• Assist with food ordering, storage, and preparation as designated by the supervisor.
• Assist cooks as directed by the supervisor.
• Prepare and label nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepare and portion desserts, salads, and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pour beverages.
• Follow production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
• Complete pre-preparation as needed or assigned, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits to prepare for use; slice meat and measure or weigh for menu compliance and nutrition accuracy.
• Follow the cleaning schedule; clean the equipment and work area after each use; sweep and mop kitchen floors as assigned; take trash to dumpster as assigned; wash pots and pans as assigned.
• Assume responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
• Wash dishes and silverware according to dishwashing procedure; put clean dishes and silverware away; assist with cleaning of equipment, dishes, silverware, and kitchen as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year's work in a large-scale cooking operation, preferred.
