Reports To: Production Foreman or Production Supervisor

Classification: Non-Exempt

Education and Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred.

Required Skills:
  • Capability to set up and operate production components while adhering to quality and efficiency standards post-training on shop equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and explaining blueprints.
  • Aptitude for analyzing data from manual measurements and adjusting processes to ensure dimensional and visual accuracy.
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to utilize calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
  • Basic computer literacy and writing skills.
  • Ability to visually assess parts to meet company aesthetic criteria.
  • Capacity to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Physical: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs safely or with assistance and stand or bend for extended periods while performing manual tasks, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Working Hours: Full-time.
  • Personal Traits: Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude towards teamwork and safety. Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to follow directions or work independently while multitasking and troubleshooting.
  • Punctuality: Adherence to safe work practices.

Responsibilities and Authority:

Accountable for utilizing provided tools, job setup sheets, job travelers, and current part prints to establish tooling and machine setups that produce parts safely, efficiently, and consistently to meet or exceed customer specifications.

Key Duties:
  • Prioritize safety and eliminate hazardous conditions by following company safety protocols.
  • Operate various fabrication machinery and hand tools as trained, including:
    • Drill press operation.
    • Utilization of deburring machinery, including hand and power tools, to remove burrs and sharp edges while shaping parts according to specifications.
    • Rivet installation as per specifications for part assembly.
    • Operation of hardware insertion equipment, if trained.
    • Rolling machine operation, if trained.
    • Breaking out parts from nests while adhering to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
    • Shearing operations as trained.
    • CNC equipment operation under the guidance of a Lead or Supervisor, if trained.
  • Adhere to all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook and other documents.
  • Ensure that the highest quality standards are maintained in all tasks performed.
  • Meet output deadlines while executing the above responsibilities.
  • Comply with ISO/AS quality systems and safety procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary tools for job completion are available.
  • Set up and run all jobs as previously outlined.
  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on fabrication department equipment and tooling, if trained.
  • Facilitate accurate and effective departmental communication.
  • Audit completed work to ensure the highest quality standards are upheld.
  • Arrive punctually and be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Maintain accurate records in the MES system as instructed.
  • Assist with the monthly inventory process.
  • Keep the work area organized and clean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
