Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Navigator to join our team at Sierra Vista Child & Family Services. As a Peer Navigator, you will work closely with individuals, groups, and communities to improve mental health as part of a treatment team.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Lived Experience Expertise: Share your personal experiences and insights to support clients in their mental health journey.
  2. Connect Clients with Resources: Assist clients in accessing and linking to community resources, ensuring they receive the support they need.
  3. Facilitate Problem-Solving: Help clients and their families develop effective problem-solving strategies to overcome challenges.
  4. Offer Encouragement and Hope: Provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to share their concerns and work towards positive change.
  5. Deliver Group, Individual, and Family Services: Provide comprehensive support to clients through group, individual, and family sessions.
  6. Collaborate with Treatment Teams: Work closely with treatment teams, referring agencies, and community organizations to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  7. Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed records of client interactions, services provided, and outcomes achieved.
  8. Participate in Meetings and Outreach: Attend regular meetings, engage in community outreach, and participate in presentations to promote the organization's mission and services.
  9. Meet Contractual Requirements: Ensure program goals and objectives are met, and contractual requirements are maintained.
  10. Participate in Peer Review and Training: Engage in regular peer review and attend staff trainings to enhance professional development and stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements
  1. Ability to Communicate Effectively: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and community partners.
  2. Computer Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  3. Physical and Mental Demands: Meet the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role, including working in various settings and adapting to changing situations.
  4. Knowledge of Mental Health Programs: Possess a strong understanding of mental health programs, community resources, and relevant laws and regulations.
  5. Adherence to Ethical Standards: Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and community partners.
  6. Cultural Competence: Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  7. Flexibility and Adaptability: Be willing to work at various locations, including client homes, schools, and community settings, and adapt to changing circumstances.
