Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Inspector to join our team at the State of Minnesota. As a Compliance Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and laws. Your expertise will be instrumental in assessing compliance of regulated parties, reviewing prevention and response plans, and completing compliance and enforcement activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess compliance of regulated parties, including railroads, trucks, and facilities
- Review prevention and response plans to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Complete compliance and enforcement activities, including inspections and investigations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build resilience in the state of Minnesota and support emergency readiness

Requirements

- 2 years of advanced professional-level experience in emergency management, preparedness, regulatory compliance, or readiness
- Strong communication skills to clearly communicate technical concepts to a wide variety of audiences
- Advanced interpersonal skills to engage others to build strong working relationships and partnerships

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in environmental emergency preparedness and response framework and the impacts on communities
- Experience in work with, overseeing, or contracting with Oil Spill Response Organizations
