Position Overview
The Cashier serves as the primary point of contact for Craft Culinary Concepts, tasked with delivering prompt and efficient service to guests. Responsibilities include restocking supplies, preparing both cold and hot food items, and ensuring a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with Craft Culinary Concepts and local health regulations.

Essential Job Functions
The Cashier is responsible for warmly greeting all guests, fostering rapport to encourage future patronage. Typically, the Cashier operates a register to process orders and calculate sales, though there may be occasions requiring manual calculations, including providing accurate change. The Cashier must accurately fulfill guest orders by communicating with a runner or cook through the register, manual tickets, or by personally retrieving necessary food and beverage items. If serving alcoholic beverages, compliance with Craft Culinary Concepts and state liquor service regulations is mandatory. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential, along with assisting in the overall cleanliness of the assigned location to meet Craft Culinary Concepts and local health department standards. Cashiers are also expected to assist in preparing the location for future events under the guidance of their managers. Effective communication with Craft Culinary Concepts leadership is crucial, including relaying guest feedback and employee suggestions to enhance service and boost sales.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must possess a valid TEAM, TIPs, or AZ Title 4 certificate if 18 or older to serve alcohol.
  • Must have a valid County Food Handler Card on file with Craft Culinary Concepts and available for each shift worked.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of cash handling, including the ability to total orders and provide change without relying solely on a cash register.
  • Must be proficient in using cash registers and credit card machines.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent unless currently enrolled.
  • Must complete all pre-employment forms and successfully pass a background check and math assessment involving all U.S. monetary units.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used by guests who typically visit the work location.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience as a counter server or in a similar role within a high-volume restaurant or venue.
  • Must be able to interact verbally and listen attentively to co-workers, supervisors, and guests.

Other Skills/Abilities
Must be able to stand and maintain mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly is required. Must be capable of working in a fast-paced, confined environment. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential. Must be able to adapt to extreme temperature variations and high noise levels.
