Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Ross. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on our mechanical equipment, including transportation conveyors, sortation systems, and forklifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on mechanical material handling equipment
  • Perform maintenance projects as assigned on conveyor systems, including installation, removal, and process improvement changes
  • Perform emergency mechanical repairs to failed material handling systems
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs to facility equipment
  • Identify and locate required repair parts for failed systems
  • Maintain accurate record keeping, including work orders, time sheets, and parts requests
Requirements
  • Must have command of basic manual hand tools, powered hand tools, and ability to weld and utilize a cutting torch
  • Must possess knowledge of basic facility repairs, including painting, minor plumbing, and lighting
  • Must also possess knowledge of spare parts procedures and inventory control
  • Ability to utilize and be certified in the operation of forklifts, powered pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Requires overtime work as necessary
  • Must be flexible to work any shift and/or weekends as scheduled
  • One to two years of progressive mechanical aptitude in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical inclination required
  • Capable of troubleshooting basic mechanical system failures
  • Will be expected to conduct all assigned tasks scheduled by supervisor
  • Must be well organized and able to complete and perform work orders
  • Must place the utmost importance on working safely and maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others at all times
Physical Requirements

The job requires the ability to work in a warehouse environment, on a concrete floor all day. Requires continuous standing, walking, hearing, pushing, and pulling. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance is necessary. Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, talking, hearing (audio equipment), handling objects with hands, and lifting to 50lbs.

This role requires full-time in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings, and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback.
