Job Title: Oncology Supervisor

VCU Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our nursing division, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our nursing staff during off-shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating care processes on nursing units during designated shifts
  • Work with unit staff to assess challenges and plan, implement, and evaluate improvement strategies
  • Ensure nursing quality and compliance with process of care measures, providing feedback on opportunities for improvement
  • Interpret and enforce hospital policy and state code as it pertains to delivery of nursing services and provision of care
  • Work closely with unit leadership to ensure appropriate handoff and resolution of concerns, providing continuity of issue resolution on a 24-hr basis
  • Manage patient flow and throughput in collaboration with unit staff, One Call Center, and Support Services staff during designated shifts
  • Respond to patient and visitor concerns, assisting unit nursing leaders with investigation and resolution
  • Provide nursing in-service and education during designated shifts
  • Supervise team members assigned to the nursing division during designated shifts

Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience with at least one (1) year in a lead, charge, or supervisory nursing role
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible
