Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nutrition Assistant/Cook to join our team at Met Company. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing meals, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare meals according to daily menus planned by our Nutrition Specialist, Health Services Coordinator, and Nutrition Consultant.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to correct sanitation procedures and protocols.
- Dispose of garbage properly and report any broken or missing equipment and needed supplies.
- Verify and sign all receipts, bills, and other documentation related to food purchases and supplies.
- Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
- Recruit and train volunteer cook aides to support our food service operations.
- Assist with transportation duties as needed, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of staff and participants.
- Report to work on time and maintain good attendance, adhering to our agency's attendance policies.
- Perform all duties in a safe, timely, and professional manner, prioritizing the health and well-being of our participants.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience and specialized training in food service, with a focus on nutrition and culinary arts.
- Pass a criminal background check and adhere to our agency's drug and alcohol testing program.
- Negative Tuberculosis Screen, First Aid certification, and CPR certification with an emphasis on children and toddlers.
- Valid Texas driver's license and acceptable driving record, as approved by our agency's vehicle insurance carrier.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer functions.
