Position Overview:

The role of a Locksmith at InsideHigherEd is essential for maintaining the safety and security of the educational environment. In this position, you will be responsible for the installation, upkeep, and repair of various locking mechanisms, as well as overseeing key management systems to ensure a secure atmosphere for learning and collaboration.

Key Duties:
  • Install, service, and repair a variety of door hardware and locking systems
  • Engage in safety initiatives and participate in crisis management teams
  • Conduct regular inspections of campus locking mechanisms
  • Create and duplicate keys for various facilities
  • Stay informed about diverse locking technologies
  • Assist in setting up spaces for events and activities
  • Manage inventory of locksmithing supplies
  • Contribute to new construction and renovation projects
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Capability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Physically fit to lift and work at heights
  • Skilled in locksmithing practices and tools
  • Availability for flexible scheduling and outdoor work
  • Team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn
  • Experience in facility maintenance is advantageous
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory
