Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to drive a concrete mixer truck to various work sites and discharge loads safely and efficiently.

This position requires the ability to work in a variety of settings and conditions, including uneven ground, and may involve unloading and attaching extension chutes weighing up to 50 pounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely drive the truck to and from destination, applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads.
  • Check loads to ensure product is being hauled in an appropriate and safe manner, adjusting as needed.
  • Estimate the slump of concrete and distinguish between a proper mix and one that is too rocky or too sandy.
  • Verify directions with plant personnel before leaving the plant to ensure delivery to the correct customer and job site.
  • Strive to meet customer expectations and achieve highly positive customer satisfaction survey results.
  • Develop working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to maximize opportunities for CEMEX.
  • Keep equipment in good condition, using approved cleaning materials and supplies.
  • Maintain personal appearance and adhere to company dress code.
  • Maintain radio contact with supervisor/dispatch to receive and transmit delivery instructions.
  • Assist other company employees as needed.
  • Complete pre- and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies.
  • Perform roadside repairs, such as installing light bulbs, as needed.
  • Maintain good working knowledge of traffic routes and adhere to all CEMEX, D.O.T., and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations.
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards.
Requirements
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL A or B).
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Acceptable CSA and MVR record.
  • High School diploma preferred.
Working Conditions

This role requires continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and working outdoors.

Must wear protective equipment while at the location.

Physical Requirements

This position requires heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Must be able to perform all job functions, including pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.

Must pass DOT physical, including back x-ray, hearing test, and drug/alcohol screen.
