Position Title: Aircraft Arresting Systems Specialist
Security Clearance: Must possess an active or recent US Secret Clearance.
Background: Previous experience in the Air Force as 3E0X2, specializing in Electrical Power Production.
Location: Al Jaber AB, Kuwait
Role Overview:
The Aircraft Arresting Systems Specialist is accountable for the operation and upkeep of power generation and aircraft recovery systems, ensuring compliance with performance standards. Responsibilities encompass the management of systems related to aircraft launch and landing operations, including but not limited to catapults and arresting gear. Key tasks involve the installation and maintenance of visual landing aids, testing of launch and recovery apparatus, and activation of airfield arresting systems during emergency scenarios. The role also includes directing aircraft operations and maintaining detailed logs of launches, recoveries, and equipment servicing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, operate, and maintain electrical power generation and control systems, automatic transfer switches, and aircraft arresting systems. Ensure all equipment is serviceable and compliant with established guidelines.
- Conduct maintenance, modifications, and repairs on power generation and control systems. Utilize precision testing equipment to troubleshoot and rectify malfunctions, ensuring all components are functioning optimally.
- Maintain comprehensive records of operations, inspections, and maintenance activities. Document relevant data for performance logs and reports, and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in all work areas and equipment.
- Perform quality and safety inspections regularly.
- Safeguard all government and contractor-provided property, including facilities and tools.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned in line with contractual and mission requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working overseas and familiarity with international environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Military experience in a contingency setting, with knowledge of government contracts preferred.
- Understanding of electrical and electronic principles, including generation, distribution, and utilization.
Essential Qualifications:
- Prior military service as AFSC 3E072, Power Production Journeyman.
- Completion of MAAS/BAK-12 training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. Citizenship with a valid U.S. Passport and Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain an Air Force flight line driver's license and pass access tests.
- Successful completion of CBRN defense training.
- 2-3 years of experience with BAK-12 aircraft arresting systems and factory training on Mobile Aircraft Arresting Systems (MAAS)/BAK-12.
- Three years of experience with prime power spot generators and backup generators.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
