Job Title: Mechanic

Job Summary:
A skilled Mechanic is required to maintain and repair heavy equipment, including cranes, forklifts, and tractor trailers, to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Ensure all service reports are completed accurately and submitted to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with operators and other mechanics to ensure smooth equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Stay up-to-date with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Requirements:
Essential:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Desired:
  • Experience with crane operations and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
The Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, and airborne particles. The noise level in the workplace is moderate. W. O. Grubb is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
