About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Systems Design Lead to join our team at PRG Technical. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing complex MEP systems and coordinating with other design team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop MEP systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Manage and lead a team of junior engineers, designers, and drafters, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Attend and present at client design review meetings, effectively communicating project details and progress.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, testing documents, and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate closely with architects and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with MEP systems, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Promote and build relationships with external clients, fostering strong partnerships and business growth.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as an independent designer/engineer, with a strong background in MEP systems design.
  • Must possess a PE License, with a strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Highly organized, with experience in design-build projects and a strong attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE License in Oregon, with a strong understanding of local building codes and regulations.
  • Experience working in the Pacific Northwest region, with a strong knowledge of local market conditions.
