Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at the Jefferson Parish School District. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing physical therapy services to students with disabilities, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical therapy screenings, evaluations, and therapy to students with disabilities
  • Assist the Lead Therapist in collecting and compiling data for district, state, and federal reports
  • Maintain accurate records and documents results according to established procedures
  • Provide consult services and in-service to teachers, families, and other professional personnel
  • Participate in special education eligibility determinations and IEP development
  • Collaborate with medical personnel and community agencies to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university/college
  • Licensure by the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners as a Physical Therapist
  • Appropriate certification as a Physical Therapist from the Louisiana Department of Education
  • Minimum 2 years' experience providing physical therapy with children/adolescents
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals and teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Bilingual
  • Experience in conducting special education evaluations
  • Clinical experience
Working Conditions

This position requires sitting for part of each workday, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Ability to provide own transportation to schools, work locations, and meeting sites is necessary.
