Early Childhood Educator Job Overview

New Pisgah Day Care is in search of a passionate Early Childhood Educator to become a vital part of our educational team. The selected individual will be tasked with managing a classroom of young learners aged 3-5, collaborating closely with a fellow educator to ensure a nurturing and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet children and their families with kindness and professionalism each day.
  • Foster a clean, joyful, and comfortable setting in the preschool classroom by adhering to daily protocols.
  • Work alongside a co-educator to create and execute weekly lesson plans that receive approval from the program Director.
  • Engage students through diverse teaching techniques, including play, music, arts and crafts, and more.
  • Instruct children using a Creative curriculum that emphasizes foundational skills such as letters, numbers, colors, and shapes.
  • Establish strong connections with parents, ensuring transparent communication regarding the program and the development of their children.
  • Oversee nap time routines while integrating lesson planning and professional growth.
  • Track student development utilizing Teaching Strategies GOLD.
  • Demonstrate experience in working with families.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in childcare is preferred.
  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or CDA Gateway Level 2, 3, 4, or 5 certification is required.
