LPN - Clinical Assistant in Internal Medicine

About the Role
This LPN position is eligible for a sign-on bonus, in addition to robust benefits packages and paid time off.
As a clinical assistant in our internal medicine department, you will work as part of a care team to improve the execution of quality requirements, increase throughput, and enhance the overall patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- You will provide nursing services in an office setting, demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide care or arrange for the provision of appropriate care for patients.
- Apart from accurate documentation, you will participate in telephone triage, ensuring that all ordered laboratory and diagnostic tests are tracked and logged.
- Pre-visit planning with the provider and care team, medication administration, including injections, checking vital signs, height, and weight are also key responsibilities.
- You may assist with reviewing medication history and updating medication lists, along with ensuring satisfaction of pertinent health maintenance requirements.
- Assist providers during procedures and examinations, and perform instrument and room clean-up.
- You will utilize standard precautions, comply with Policies; Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards; Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations; and The Joint Commission (TJC), Division of Facility Services (DFS), and other Regulatory Agency standards as applicable to the practice.
- Reports patient's condition and reaction to the provider following procedures, medication administration, or treatments.
- Additionally, you will assist with patient inquiries for prescription refills, appointment scheduling, and referral authorization as needed.
- Participates in electronic documentation of care at the direction of the provider.
- Maintaining Quality Control and adhering to CLIA standards for Point of Care testing, performing venipuncture, collecting specimens, and preparing them for pick-up are also essential duties.
Physical Requirements
The role consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. You must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
A Licensed Practical Nurse with a current license to practice in NC or SC required, graduate of an Accredited School of practical nursing required, previous medical office experience preferred, BLS required per policy guidelines.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of approximately $65,000 annually, based on location and experience, plus robust benefits packages and paid time off.
