Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for interpreting and executing physical therapy orders, screening and assessing patients, and developing individualized plans of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and execute physical therapy orders
  • Screen and assess patients based on diagnosis and age
  • Develop individualized plans of care
  • Discuss findings and collaborate with patients/family on goal establishment
  • Implement creative treatment techniques based on patient needs
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and adjust plans as needed
  • Develop goals to support performance in home and community environments
  • Teach specific techniques and procedures to patients, family, and/or hospital personnel
  • Monitor treatment environment for safety and housekeeping
  • Consider psychosocial aspects of care
  • Terminate services when maximum benefit is received and formulate follow-up plans when indicated
  • Provide in-service education to staff and other healthcare personnel
  • Document care and maintain records
  • Schedule and prioritize workload to meet productivity standards and deadlines
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, required
  • Masters Degree or Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy, preferred
  • Current New York State license or New York State limited permit
  • Minimum of one year related experience in an acute rehabilitation setting with Bachelor's Degree, required
  • No experience required with Masters Degree
  • Pediatric experience strongly preferred
Additional Information
