Healthcare Nutritionist

**Become a part of our dynamic team** We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare team in Soledad, CA.

This exciting opportunity allows you to work in a correctional facility, providing essential nutritional services to residents. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clinical personnel to ensure the best possible care for our residents.

Main Duties:

• Assist clinical personnel with special nutritional needs under the direction of the Institution's designee
• Provide individual and group treatment and social casework for residents and their families
• Plan dietary intervention and strategies, attend interdisciplinary team conferences, and monitor and document nutritional needs and goals
• Conduct and complete nutrition assessments within 72 hours of physician's order, and provide nutritional counseling as needed
• Participate in committees relating to nutrition, food service, bioethics, performance improvement/quality assurance, and other issues
• Instruct institutional food service employees on medical diets and provide alternative food product suggestions or allowed substitutions
• Provide follow-up consultations with patients as needed or ordered by a physician
• Maintain professional working relationships between Food Services, Correctional Healthcare Services staff, and custodial staff
• Prepare written dietary service status reports each month

To be eligible for this role, applicants must have at least 12 months of experience within the last three years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein, in a public or private institution. Additionally, they must have current and valid registration issued by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
