Senior Transmission Design Engineer - Transmission

The chosen candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Deliver technical leadership for overhead transmission design teams engaged in projects spanning from 69kV to 500kV

  • Conduct comprehensive quality assessments
  • Identify and relay changes to project scope to the engineering supervisor and project coordinator
  • Provide valuable insights while adhering to project schedules

  • Formulate and share strategies and tools to improve efficiency within the team and department
  • Design, enhance, and deliver training programs for the project team and department
  • Perform additional assigned responsibilities
The ideal candidate should excel in building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of project teams.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an ABET accredited institution, or a Bachelor of Science in Civil or a related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • A Master's degree in Civil Engineering may substitute for one year of experience
  • A minimum of three years of experience in transmission engineering, with a preference for a consulting background
  • Preferred successful completion of the FE or EIT examination
  • Strong grasp of standard civil/structural engineering practices and protocols
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment, demonstrating critical thinking abilities
  • Proficient in various software tools including Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD, as well as hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, and transmission analysis software
  • Meticulous attention to detail, skilled in facilitation, team development, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving
