Staff Therapist Opportunity at Widener University

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Therapist to join our team at Widener University's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). As a key member of our inter-disciplinary mental health team, you will provide direct clinical services to students, consultation, outreach, and support to the university community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide short-term individual therapy services to students
  • Collaborate with CAPS staff to provide continuity of care and follow-up for students with significant and emergent emotional and psychological needs
  • Facilitate communication with faculty, staff, parents, and students around mental health needs and concerns
  • Actively collaborate with campus partners to provide services in a holistic, timely manner
  • Provide on-call after-hours crisis services in rotation with other staff members
  • Maintain thorough and prompt documentation in the EHR system
Requirements:
  • License eligible to practice in the state of Pennsylvania as a mental health professional
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a college counseling center or other mental health center
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Knowledge of laws related to clinical mental health services
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Pennsylvania license to practice as a mental health clinician
  • Doctoral-level degree completion
