About the Role:

The R&D Learning and Development Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping our team's growth and success. You'll work closely with senior management to identify and address training needs, approve and guide the creation or acquisition of innovative training programs, and ensure their effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Learning Development:

    • Design and implement comprehensive learning and development programs tailored to the needs of the R&D team.

    • Ensure alignment of learning initiatives with the company's strategic goals and R&D objectives.

  • Building Capabilities for the Future:

    • Identify and develop essential skills and competencies needed for future R&D success.

    • Create and support talent pipelines to ensure readiness for future challenges and opportunities.

  • Collaborative Partnerships:

    • Work closely with R&D leaders, the People function, and other departments to identify learning needs and opportunities.

    • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with external training providers, academic institutions, and industry experts.

  • Innovative Learning Solutions:

    • Develop and implement cutting-edge learning solutions and technologies to enhance the R&D learning experience.

    • Leverage digital tools and platforms to create engaging and accessible learning content.

  • Effective Decision Making:

    • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions about learning and development strategies.

    • Continuously assess the effectiveness of learning programs and make necessary adjustments.

  • Performance Measurement:

    • Develop metrics and KPIs to evaluate the impact of learning and development initiatives on R&D performance.

    • Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on the progress and outcomes of learning programs.

  • Global Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Engage with global R&D teams to ensure learning programs are relevant and impactful across different regions.

    • Adapt learning solutions to meet the diverse needs of a global workforce.

  • Budget Management:

    • Manage the learning and development budget effectively, ensuring optimal use of resources.

    • Identify cost-effective solutions and maximize ROI on learning investments.

Requirements:

Minimum 10-12 years of related experience in adult learning, instructional design, learning technology enablement, and learning administration. 8 years of experience in R&D or building capabilities in R&D. University/Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field. Proven track record of designing and delivering effective training programs. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex problems. Passion for learning and development and staying up-to-date with industry trends. Proven ability to work with and lead complex, global teams and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Ability to translate business and technical strategy into innovative and impactful learning and development strategies. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively, including the ability to influence without direct authority. Excellent business acumen and ability to develop insights to inform talent solutions.
