We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment, including motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, and controls.
- Ensure the proper functioning of patient care equipment, such as beds, carts, tables, blood pressure devices, and surgery equipment.
- Assist with monitoring utility systems to guarantee efficient operation.
- Perform routine to moderately complex general maintenance functions, including carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
- Compute job costs and order parts, equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and perform equipment safety checks.
- High School Graduate or GED for Maintenance Tech and HVAC Tech.
- No experience required for Maintenance Tech; typically 1-2 years of experience in HVAC for HVAC Tech.
- Current driving record that meets Aurora fleet safety standards.
- Knowledge and basic proficiency in electricity, plumbing, HVAC, steam fitting, soldering, carpentry, fabricating, and groundskeeping.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and to problem solve.
The Surgical Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, potentially exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards. Protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
This role requires travel and may be exposed to road and weather hazards.
