About the Role

This position is a line position with supervisory responsibilities, requiring the ability to perform several job duties in a specific location. The successful candidate will be responsible for observing all retail dining policies and procedures, assisting with the training of new employees and student workers, and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Timely attendance and punctuality, with a maximum of two absences per semester.
  • Exemplary grooming standards and a clean, neat uniform, including a name tag and skid-resistant shoes.
  • Monitoring and assuring quality and availability of items throughout the meal service, and guaranteeing that all food is handled and served per HAACP and Dining Services guidelines.
  • High visibility in the service area and/or kitchen, with effective communication with team members and customers.
  • Contribution to the department's success by using positive statements about the Dining Services Department and coworkers.
  • Effective training of FSWI and student workers, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Six months of general work experience.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, maintain records, and complete forms accurately.
  • Knowledge of the care and use of food service equipment and kitchen utensils, health hazards in food preparation and service, and necessary precautionary measures.
  • Preferred qualifications include food truck experience, great work ethics, an outgoing personality, and a willingness to excel and grow with the University of North Texas System.
