About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Specialist to join our team at Summit Medical Group in Knoxville. As a key member of our primary care organization, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the health and well-being of our community.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive physical exams, gather medical histories, and document findings.
  • Maintain and review patient records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Order laboratory and diagnostic procedures as necessary, interpreting results to determine preliminary diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Instruct patients and families regarding medications, treatments, and health promotion strategies.
  • Assist physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs, providing continuity of care between visits.
  • Triage nursing and family calls, offering consultation and guidance as needed.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Minimum three years of patient care experience in a clinic setting, with two years of APN or PA experience preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in Tennessee, or Physician Assistant licensure in Tennessee.
