Medical Laboratory Scientist PRN Micro

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist PRN Micro, you will perform laboratory tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. You will work under the supervision of a Technical Supervisor and Shift Supervisor, following all hospital and laboratory policies, guidelines, procedures, and protocols. In the absence of the Supervisor, you may assume charge duties.
Required Qualifications:- Hold a Bachelor's degree in a health science program or medical laboratory science. Alternatively, a minimum of five years of relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of the required degree. Employees hired prior to 1/1/09 are grandfathered into this position.
- Obtain a current Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) license under Chapter 483, Part IV, Florida Statute: 61F-5, or obtain it within ninety days of the hire date.
Note: A limited scope of practice will be utilized until licensure has been obtained. Results entry will not be performed.
Preferred Qualifications:- Have a minimum of one year of experience in a clinical laboratory.
- Exhibit excellent communication and listening skills.
- Demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Have a basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications and office software.
- Be qualified as an ASCP, AMT, NCA, or an equivalent medical laboratory scientist.
10-hour shifts from 1500 to 1330, as needed, alternating holidays and every other week possible.
