We are seeking a dedicated Pet Care Specialist to join our team at Destination Pet LLC in Rockville.

Responsibilities:

  • Sanitizes/disinfects pet enclosures and general boarding areas, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our guests.
  • Provides clean bedding and fresh water to each pet guest, meeting their needs and promoting their well-being.
  • Makes sure that each pet receives the correct type and quantity of food for each meal, maintaining their nutritional balance.
  • Ensures pets have clean water at all times, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Monitors and accurately charts consumption and elimination of each and every pet guest, reporting any concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Visually checks pet guests for safety and well-being throughout the day, providing prompt attention if needed.
  • Checks and picks up excrement from enclosures and other areas as needed throughout the day, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Monitors pet belongings; cleans belongings as needed; assures the return of pet belongings to owners. Carries pet belongings to storage area, front desk or to assist customers, as needed.
  • Maintains and cleans food preparation areas, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Performs daily laundering of pet bedding and towels, ensuring cleanliness and hygiene.

Requirements:

Expertise & Experience:

  • A passion for animals and commitment to providing exceptional care.
  • Professional animal care/kennel experience preferred, but not required.
  • A professional manner at all times, reflecting positively on our company.
  • An entry-level role, open to high school/college/teenagers 16+, eager to learn and grow with our team.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, accommodating our diverse client base.
  • Frequently lift 40 pounds, demonstrating physical strength and endurance.
  • Able to be on feet for the duration of your shift, standing, walking, and climbing stairs frequently.
  • Able to handle dogs on leashes, showcasing patience and control.
  • Able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander, and excretions, prioritizing health and safety.

  • A competitive hourly rate of $17.00-$18.50, based on experience and qualifications.
