Position Overview:
Under the general oversight of the Director of Environmental Services, the role is dedicated to ensuring a clean and sanitary environment throughout the facility.

Responsibilities:
Linens Management:
• Collect soiled linens from all patient areas.
• Distribute fresh linens to departments requiring replenishment.
• Ensure that linens for patient beds are returned to their original locations.

Cleaning Duties:
• Conduct routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, emergency departments, imaging areas, clinical departments, administrative offices, laboratories, pharmacies, waiting areas, public restrooms, and other designated spaces.
• Sanitize all assigned areas according to established protocols.
• Utilize appropriate cleaning agents to wipe down equipment, clean furniture, and vacuum carpets.
• Make beds, empty waste receptacles, restock supplies, and perform dusting tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness in all assigned areas, including on-campus housing.
• Check and replenish all dispensers in assigned areas, including paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, and hand sanitizer.

Inventory Management:
• Conduct daily inventory checks and inspect equipment for necessary repairs or replacements, reporting any issues to maintenance for safety concerns related to the facility.
• Organize and restock the assigned housekeeping cart before commencing daily tasks.
• Ensure that the housekeeping cart and all cleaning supplies are secured when not in direct view.

Organizational Expectations:
• Attendance is crucial; employees are expected to arrive on time and complete their scheduled shifts.
• Uphold patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Foster positive team dynamics and a culture of service excellence through effective communication and respect.
• Maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with staff, patients, and visitors at all times, collaborating with other departments as needed.
• Adhere to workplace safety practices consistently.

Employee Engagement:
• Actively participate in all hospital service excellence initiatives and training sessions.
• Attend and engage in at least 50% of departmental staff meetings and review all meeting minutes.
• Complete all required annual training by the designated deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to perform the primary functions of the job with minimal physical effort, including occasional light lifting (up to 25 pounds), stooping, and manual dexterity.
• Capacity to manage mental stress effectively.
• Proficient in verbal communication and able to convey information clearly and accurately.
• Familiarity with computers and other office equipment is preferred.
