Position Overview:
The Aircraft Finishing Specialist II operates with minimal oversight to effectively prepare, paint, and detail aircraft in accordance with established schedules, adhering to company quality standards and operational protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Duties:
1. Execute aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing tasks safely and efficiently under limited supervision.
2. Collaborate with management and inspection teams to ensure adherence to internal and FAA documentation, approvals, and quality standards.
3. Utilize tools and equipment, including dual-action sanders, hydraulic lifts, and paint sprayers, following standard operating procedures.
4. Maintain and care for shop tools and equipment properly.
5. Follow established procedures when handling sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive substances, utilizing protective gear as necessary.
6. Adhere to safety regulations and proactively identify unsafe conditions.
7. Utilize the material tracking system for parts demand creation, issue tracking, and work sign-offs.
8. Assist in the movement of aircraft within hangars.
9. Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and engage in related activities.
10. Perform additional duties as required.
Additional Qualifications:
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Skilled in using tools and equipment relevant to the aircraft painting process.
- Capable of interpreting blueprints and engineering documents.
- Must pass a Pulmonary Function Test for respirator certification.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and adapt to various shifts.
- Computer literacy is essential.
- Knowledge of paint processes and products (including lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics) is required.
