Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Retail Merchandise Coordinator to join our team at HomeSense. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and maintaining a clean and organized store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a positive internal and external customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
  • Promote a culture of honesty and integrity, maintaining confidentiality and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
  • Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor and ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan.
  • Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles, ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
  • Monitor productivity of team and coach as necessary, maintaining all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area.
  • Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities.
  • Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback, partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, promoting credit and loyalty programs and supporting store shrink reduction goals and programs.
  • Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment, performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to train others and possess 1 year retail and 6 months of leadership experience.
