Position Overview

As an Overnight Support Counselor at North Suffolk Community Services Inc, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and welfare of residents in a supportive living environment during overnight hours. You will assist individuals according to their specific needs while complying with all organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Remain alert and accessible to residents throughout the overnight shift until they have departed the program or until the morning staff arrives.
  • Conduct hourly safety checks to guarantee the security of both individuals and the facility.
  • Maintain confidential records by documenting each resident's progress.
  • Execute tasks from the cleaning checklist and fulfill duties based on individual requirements and schedules.
  • Compose daily notes at the conclusion of your shift as necessary, detailing any incidents and ensuring consistent communication with team members.
  • Perform medication inventory counts.
  • Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A high school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Up to six months of experience in human services or related fields is preferred.
  • Skills: A valid driver's license is preferred. Must obtain MAP certification and CPR/First Aid certification within five months of employment (training will be provided).
