We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist I to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.
Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment, ensuring that equipment functions properly and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that the operative procedure is conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
- Prepare and assemble all necessary equipment, supplies, and positioning aids based on preference cards.
- Prepare medications for administration on the operative field under the direction of the physician.
- Continuously develop and enhance your skills and knowledge in surgical technology, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited surgical technology program.
- Certification in surgical technology through a nationally certifying body (NBSTSA or NCCT).
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification.
