About the Diesel Mechanic Position

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at First Student. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of vehicles to ensure they are safe and reliable for our students and passengers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
  • Assist with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections
  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately and efficiently
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed
  • At least 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience or technical school education
  • Possess a mechanic's tool set
  • Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program

  • Additional $.25 per hour for each ASE certification
