Role Summary:
An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) collaborates with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, operating under privileges sanctioned by the credentialing committee to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care within their scope of practice alongside a supervising physician. The APP embodies the organization's mission, vision, and values while adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Duties: Collects comprehensive health and medical histories, conducts thorough physical examinations, and reviews diagnostic tests/results. Formulates differential diagnoses and develops treatment plans, including prescribing evidence-based pharmacological agents as per departmental guidelines. Ensures preventive health screenings are conducted based on patient needs. Maintains detailed and accurate records of patient care, staying informed on general disease processes and specialty literature. Adjusts care plans as necessary to meet evolving patient needs and leads initiatives to enhance productivity.
2. Educational Role: Provides professional education to patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up care. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and develops educational resources tailored to the needs of clinicians and staff. Engages in self-directed learning and attends relevant educational programs.
3. Leadership Responsibilities: Instructs and mentors healthcare professionals, including precepting and leading training sessions. Participates in community outreach initiatives and demonstrates an understanding of healthcare systems to enhance service delivery.
4. Professional Conduct: Engages with patients and families respectfully and promptly, fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues to meet patient care needs. Takes accountability for work outcomes and shares responsibilities with team members.
5. Quality Improvement and Research: Actively participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives by identifying and implementing enhancements in care processes. Collaborates with management to assess and address clinical issues and leads interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care delivery. Advocates for policy improvements to enhance patient care services.


Additional Information

Education Requirements:
Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider program (APRN or PA).
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Must be licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in North Carolina, with board certification as required. DEA registration is also necessary.
Professional Experience Requirements:
No prior experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated clinical competency, effective leadership abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with strong analytical capabilities.
