ROW Agent Job Description

TrueNet Communications is seeking a highly skilled ROW Agent to join our team in the OKC, OK area. As a ROW Agent, you will play a critical role in supporting our managers and employees on customer sites, constructing, building, repairing, and inspecting Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) networks to provide voice, video, and data to residential and commercial customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with other utilities for permits, joint trench, pole applications, and service issues.
  • Perform field engineering of proposed projects and ensure alternative routing delivers the most cost-effective design for construction.
  • Coordinate contractor work and make-ready, obtains permits and access or ROW agreements, distributes design prints and other necessary working documents.
  • Negotiate and approve design or construction changes.
  • Research and review plans, gather necessary data and listing material requirements for project.
  • Provide follow-up to pending issues to assure completion of tasks – internal and external.
  • Maintain workflow databases and updates schedules.
  • Participate in managing and estimating revenue forecasts, material planning, capital and expense budgets.
  • Verify serviceability, surveys proposed service routing, and estimates material, construction, and labor costs.
  • Initiate customer contacts, secures access or ROW agreements, completes route designs, and takes necessary steps to meet customer needs.
  • Works closely with design and engineering teams to select and allocate fiber needs and requirements.
  • May order materials or coordinate with administrative personnel; may verify and reconcile invoices.
  • Coordinates with public works personnel, developers, commercial customers, building owners, and utilities on joint trench projects.
  • Negotiates and approves design or construction changes.
  • Contact various agencies to determine what information is required when submitting permit applications.
  • May inspect construction work or coordinate inspection assignments.
  • Releases addresses as serviceable and notifies other departments of serviceability.
  • As projects are completed, perform tasks to close tasks in database, reconcile assets, and generate reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • HS diploma, GED or relevant work experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility required.
  • Fully functioning support role having greater responsibility to perform all (or most) most effectively identifies problems as they occur and takes appropriate steps to solve them in situations where the problem is not difficult or complex.
  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor/manager.
  • Autonomy - Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, techniques.
  • Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor/manager.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of a technical or specialty area; Readily learns and applies new information/concept in area of practice.
  • 2+ years of permit coordination experience preferred.
  • Must be proficient with a Windows operating system.
  • Must be proficient with MS office applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Must be proficient with Adobe products.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to work alone, and with a team.
  • Highly adaptive/flexible to changing environments and priorities.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent walking, standing, sitting within the work area.
  • Lifting of up to 20 pounds less than one-third of the time.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Travel to agencies, customer premises and pick up of permits.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, peers, et al.
Work Environment:
  • Travel up to 25% may be required.
  • The work environment is that of an office position with minimal to high noise levels.
  • The position requires working independently, as well as part of a team.
  • This position requires verbal and face-to-face contact with others daily.
  • Frequent use of a computer is necessary.
  • This position requires use of all general office equipment.
