Position Summary
As a Physician Assistant within this innovative clinic, you will be instrumental in guiding patients towards their weight loss objectives through tailored care, educational support, and therapeutic interventions. This role provides a valuable opportunity to significantly influence the well-being of patients while collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough evaluations of patients' medical histories, current health conditions, and weight-related aspirations.
- Work alongside supervising physicians and healthcare colleagues to create personalized weight loss strategies that align with each patient's specific needs and health profiles.
- Administer treatments, including injections and medications, and manage necessary medical devices for effective weight management.
- Provide expert medical advice and counseling on injection therapies, behavioral modifications, and medication management for weight loss and maintenance.
- Regularly assess patient progress through follow-up consultations, monitoring changes in weight, body composition, and overall health, and modify treatment plans as required to achieve optimal results.
- Maintain precise and current medical documentation, including patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and communications with other healthcare providers.
- Support patients' health journeys by offering encouragement, resources, and advocacy to help them reach their weight loss goals.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- State licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Expertise in conducting comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical examinations related to weight management.
- Ability to formulate individualized treatment plans based on the unique needs and preferences of patients.
- Experience in primary care, health and wellness, urgent care, or related fields with a focus on weight management is preferred.
- Dedication to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care with empathy and respect.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering trust and rapport with patients.
- Knowledge of weight management principles, including medications, nutrition, and behavior change strategies.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and productivity.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Commitment to staying informed on the latest research and advancements in weight management.
- Passion for promoting health and wellness and assisting individuals in achieving their weight loss objectives.
Work Schedule:
This position is structured for Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, with no on-call, overnight, or weekend shifts required.
Work Environment:
This role necessitates an on-site presence at the clinic.
