Overview

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Landscape Architect to join our team in our Dallas and Houston office. This position will support various divisions, including Public Infrastructure, Land, Commercial and Residential, and Renewables. We are looking for a Registered Landscape Architect with experience in design and project management for landscape architecture/planning projects of low to medium complexity.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Utilize effective time management and organizational skills to deliver projects efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Apply expertise in current computer-aided design and production software to maximize project delivery efficiency.
  • Take a proactive role in enhancing the professional development of assigned personnel.
  • Maintain a positive environment and team approach for all assignments.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to benefit the overall company efficiency and work environment.
  • Manage manpower projections and staffing for multiple tasks or small projects to maximize profitability while maintaining quality project deliverables.
  • Effectively communicate with design teams, consultants, and other parties, both verbally and in writing.
  • Protect the well-being of clients and the company at all times.
  • Manage up to three assigned technical personnel, including assigning and overseeing project assignments, reviewing work for accuracy and completeness, promoting professional development, maintaining job satisfaction and morale, assisting with performance evaluations, and recommending compensation adjustments and/or promotions.
Required Skills
  • Demonstrate competence in fundamental landscape architecture, including the ability to prepare a full construction document set for small to medium-sized projects with multiple disciplines.
  • Develop cost estimates, basic specifications, field reports, and simple proposals.
  • Understand construction administration and general construction methods.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with current computer-aided design and production software and the ability to learn new versions or technology.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of five years of full-time experience.
  • Registered Landscape Architect in the state of Texas or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Graduate from an accredited university or college with a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Planning (Experience or degrees in other disciplines may be substituted at Management's discretion).
