Job Summary

The CT Technologist - Float Position is responsible for performing computed tomography examinations to produce high-quality images of various anatomical parts and systems for diagnostic purposes. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex concepts to patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze patient data to determine optimal imaging parameters
  • Verify patient identification and physician orders to ensure accurate and safe procedures
  • Prepare patients for CT scans, including administering contrast agents and ensuring proper shielding and immobilization
  • Operate CT equipment to produce high-quality images, reformatting as needed to better visualize anatomy or pathology
  • Send images to PACS for interpretation by radiologists and archive images as needed
  • Document patient care, exam, and patient history in electronic records
  • Verify correct orders are entered into RIS and document patient history in PACS system
  • Facilitate communication with other departments to ensure timely procedures and respond to emergency calls
  • Maintain equipment workstations in optimal condition and perform daily quality control on CT equipment
Requirements
  • Completion of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program recognized by ARRT
  • 6 months experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with ability to communicate complex concepts to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and current Registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system and Act 33 with renewal
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, rotating shifts, and standing for long periods. The incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need and may be required to travel between System locations.
