Fabricator II CNC Specialist

G&W Electric is seeking a skilled Fabricator II CNC Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for fabricating high-quality metal components using CNC machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Select and install dies, tools, and punches for proper material thickness
- Choose the correct CNC program for laser cutting
- Form material according to drawings using various radius dies
- Install and align progressive compound, forming, blanking, piercing, coining, embossing, notching, and combination punches and dies
- Monitor equipment and tooling condition
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures
- Conduct first-piece and in-progress inspections to ensure work meets all requirements
- Adjust stroke, feed equipment, knock-out devices, work holders, and safety devices
- Install and align punches and dies in the proper tool station to perform required operations
- Monitor tooling condition and inform the supervisor or team lead when punches and dies need sharpening
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
- Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of fabrication tasks as needed
- Inspect all work prior to passing it on to the next operation
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms
- Must be able to safely use small hand and power tools
- Must be able to read bills of materials and interpret drawings of moderate to advanced complexity
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be able to safely operate fabrication machinery such as press brake, punch press, etc.
- High School diploma, GED, or combination of work experience and skill development required
- 3 or more years of experience working as a metal fabricator in a manufacturing environment desirable
The work is classified as Medium-Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles.
- Lifting Demands:
- Lift up to 75 lbs on an occasional basis floor to waist
- Lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis floor to chest
- Carry up to 75 lbs on an occasional basis up to 25 feet
- Push/pull up to 100 lbs on an occasional basis
- Postural Demands:
- Standing - continuous
- Walking - continuous
- Bending/stooping - continuous
- Squatting/kneeling - continuous
- Lifting - continuous
- Miscellaneous Demands:
- Griping, manipulation, fingering - frequent to continuous
- Variable hand/power tool use - frequent
- Two-person lifting tasks using assistive devices for lifting, pulling, and pushing including hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and hoists
