Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Salt Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our winter operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating salt trucks to remove hazardous conditions on parking surfaces due to snow and ice.

  • Utilize advanced plowing and salting techniques based on current ground conditions, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Accurately record and report chemical usage, site visits, and start/stop times to support dispatch operations.
  • Ensure the safe operation of salt trucks in congested and icy environments, adhering to all relevant safety protocols.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections, reporting any issues or breakdowns to maintenance personnel and management.
  • Supervise seasonal drivers, providing guidance on snow management chemicals and assessing snow/ice conditions to determine required service levels.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A valid CDL Class B license with Air Brakes Certification.
  • On-call availability from October 15th to April 30th, ensuring prompt response to winter weather events.
  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance, subject to company requirements.
  • Physical stamina to lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs), as well as maintain focus and concentration during extended work periods.
