Job Description

Job Title: Server Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Server Assistant to join our team at San Jose Country Club. As a Server Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our members and their guests have an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Table Preparation: Prepare tables for arriving patrons by wiping up spills, clearing away crumbs, replacing soiled linen, and setting up tableware, napkins, and condiments.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Deliver food to tables when Servers are busy, and assist with serving complimentary bread to patrons once they are seated.
  • Table Maintenance: Clear dirty plates, utensils, and glassware from tables as required, and carry dirty tableware to the kitchen area.
  • Server Support: Assist Servers with their duties, including responding to patrons' requests and informing management of any complaints.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that the server station is adequately stocked with necessary restaurant supplies.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the Server team to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to walk and stand for long periods, lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Experience: Proven experience working in the restaurant industry.
  • Skills: Sound knowledge of proper food handling procedures, excellent organizational skills, effective communication skills, and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Availability: Must be able to work nights and weekends (including Sundays) and most major holidays.

Compensation: Base pay + commissions, benefits package (401k, health/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, holiday pay), and opportunity for advancement.
