Position Overview:

This role is integral to ensuring the safety and security of the organization, its resources, personnel, and visitors. The position requires a state-certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who is responsible for providing medical evaluation and care at the basic life support level to individuals in need of assistance, under the guidance of the Security Supervisor or Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome visitors and conduct identification verification for individuals appearing to be underage.
  • Maintain a prominent presence at designated locations to assist guests while protecting the property and its assets.
  • Facilitate safe escort services for guests, employees, and vendors upon request.
  • Assist guests who may be inebriated, ensuring their safe departure and making necessary travel arrangements.
  • Deliver emergency medical care to individuals who sustain injuries or experience health issues on the premises, utilizing initial and ongoing patient assessment techniques to determine appropriate interventions.
  • Engage in additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory; prior experience in security is advantageous.
  • Current AZ State EMT Basic and CPR certifications are required, along with a minimum of two years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Ability to successfully complete an EMT refresher course as mandated for state certification.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and commit to maintaining a Drug-Free Workplace as a condition of employment.
  • Undergo a comprehensive background check to obtain necessary certification/licensure prior to employment.
  • Exhibit the GILA WAY principles: Greet, Interact positively, Listen actively, and Appreciate our guests.
  • Demonstrate exceptional guest service skills, strong telephone etiquette, and the ability to work independently while completing tasks efficiently.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships, fostering cooperation among guests and team members.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Acquire, or demonstrate the ability to obtain within one year, a thorough understanding of organizational policies, governmental regulations, and relevant technical guidelines.
