Radiology Practitioner Assistant Job Description

This role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with radiologists to perform diagnostic procedures and exams. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform various diagnostic procedures and exams, including fluoroscopic GI and GU examinations, fluoroscopic and/or US guided diagnostic and therapeutic musculoskeletal injections/aspirations, and thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, and PICC placement.
  • Work in conjunction with physicians to provide clinical imaging services.
  • Participate in teaching and training of residents and fellows.
  • Consult on work in progress and completed work to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.
  • Participate in the quality assurance program to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and hospital regulations and guidelines.
  • Work effectively with patients, co-workers, residents, physicians, and supervisors.
Requirements:
  • Registered Radiology Assistant (RRA), Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA), or Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (PA/NP) certification.
  • Board certification.
  • Fluoroscopy experience preferred.
