Position Overview:

The primary responsibilities include supporting the project manager in various aspects such as project planning, scheduling, procurement of materials, reporting, and tracking progress. The Project Manager operates under the guidance of the project manager or group manager, with tasks performed in either an office or field setting.

Specific job functions may vary based on the project, location, and available personnel.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the pre-project planning phase, which involves assessing manpower requirements, assigning project staff, providing logistical insights for the project site, and establishing the initial project budget.
  • Contributing to the development and management of budgets for parts or the entirety of a project, including reviewing field timesheets and material invoices, and monitoring progress against cost accounts.
  • Updating construction forecasts to ensure accurate cost projections and completion timelines.
  • Analyzing work progress and creating productivity reports to compare actual costs against budgeted figures.
  • Generating and processing project-specific Requests for Information (RFIs), Submittals, and Change Orders.
  • Reviewing and understanding all project-related documents, including Drawings, Specifications, Submittals, RFIs, and field reports.
  • Participating in weekly construction and estimating meetings, ensuring accurate and comprehensive note-taking.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Practical knowledge and/or experience in Electrical or General Construction.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Integrity, honesty, and a sense of responsibility towards team contributions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Bidding Software is advantageous.
