Company Overview
Integer Technologies LLC is a pioneering research and development organization dedicated to advancing technology and enhancing national security. Our focus lies in conducting research and developing innovative solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) and various U.S. Government entities, transforming theoretical research into practical applications with significant military and commercial relevance. Our primary research areas encompass power and energy systems, unmanned systems (particularly in maritime contexts), digital engineering, and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques.
Our initiatives in power and energy systems are instrumental in supporting the electrification of military platforms, including naval vessels. Our research encompasses hybrid and electric propulsion technologies, extensive energy storage solutions, power conversion mechanisms, autonomous systems, digital twin technology, and the integration of mission-critical systems to ensure rapid and dependable power system responses.
Position Overview
The role of the Electrical Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Engineer necessitates a robust foundation in real-time simulation of electrical power systems, power conversion technologies, electric machinery, and control systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the multi-faceted physics governing power system components and will be adept at maintaining virtual models of physical systems for applications such as health monitoring, diagnostics, prognostics, and advanced control strategies. The Electrical HIL Engineer should be proficient in identifying key features and dynamic behaviors of physical systems across electrical, thermal, and mechanical domains, and be capable of developing accurate computational models that reflect these characteristics.
A successful applicant will have experience with controller hardware-in-the-loop (CHIL), where a physical power system's controller executes control application code in conjunction with a real-time power system model. Additionally, experience in power hardware-in-the-loop (PHIL) testing, where actual power hardware is evaluated at full-scale power and voltage levels through interfacing with simulators, is essential.
The candidate must exhibit a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, maintaining a proactive approach to enhancing their expertise. Organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial, as this role may involve collaboration with clients whose requirements are dynamic and sometimes challenging to articulate. Strong communication skills will be advantageous.
Integer Technologies LLC operates as a research and development entity focused on solving complex challenges that currently lack established solutions. To meet both internal and client project objectives, candidates must be capable of conducting research, assimilating new concepts from various engineering disciplines on advanced topics, and documenting their findings in an accessible manner for non-experts.
