Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in providing high-quality patient care in an ambulatory setting. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for administering routine respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform incentive spirometry, aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, pulmonary drainage procedures, BIPAP/CPAP, EKG, blood gas, six-minute walk, outpatient testing, and suctioning following physician orders.
  • Assess patients receiving respiratory care, using knowledge of indications, contraindications, and hazards of procedures and medications.
  • Provide patient education and ongoing education support and training to clinical staff as needed.
  • Perform quality controls and document results as applicable.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments, lab tests, and referrals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or associate degree in chemical, physical, or biological science required.
  • Graduate of respiratory therapy program required.
  • Credentialed by the NBRC at the Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist level required.
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure in the state of Iowa required.
  • CAPRS and N95 fit testing validation within 30 days of hire required.
