As a software development engineer, you will collaborate with a team to design, develop, test, and sustain software products for Air Mobility C-130J and C-5 aircraft.

You will be expected to navigate a configuration-managed software development environment throughout all project life cycle phases.

Adherence to stringent company and program-specific software development protocols (PM 4001) is essential. Proficiency in software development encompassing requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, coding, integration, and testing is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with RTOS (real-time operating systems)
  • Experience in C/C++ programming
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, systems engineering, computer engineering, or electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Ada95 and/or Python programming languages.
  • Knowledge of DO-178B/C standards
  • Experience with compilers, debuggers, and static/dynamic code analysis tools
  • Familiarity with testing tools (e.g., VectorCAST)
  • LINK 16 experience is a plus
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.
Security Clearance: This position requires a government security clearance; US Citizenship is necessary for consideration.

Work Arrangement: This role offers part-time remote work options.

Remote Work:

The selected candidate will have a hybrid work schedule, splitting time between remote work and a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Options: Lockheed Martin supports various flexible work schedules that enhance work-life balance. Options include standard 40-hour work weeks or condensed schedules that provide additional time away from the office, complementing our Paid Time Off benefits.
