Lone Star Instrumentation & Electric Corporation is seeking a dedicated Electrical Line Operator to collaborate with our skilled Line Crews. The Operator will play a crucial role in the installation, repair, and maintenance of both overhead and underground electrical power lines, along with auxiliary equipment. We are looking for a full-time candidate who possesses a strong work ethic and takes pride in delivering quality work safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist linemen in various tasks related to line maintenance, repair, and construction.
- Prepare and assemble necessary line apparatus for specific projects.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas by disposing of scrap materials appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with power plant dispatch regarding circuit operations during work activities.
- Support the use and upkeep of protective equipment, including hot sticks and rubber goods.
- Utilize various hand and power tools effectively.
- Assist in loading materials onto trucks and trailers as needed.
- May provide assistance to linemen in elevated work situations.
- Prepare and assist in the installation of pole-mounted transformers.
- Assemble conduit and place it in trenches.
- Help with the installation of various underground equipment.
- Assist in wire pulling tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of materials and processes for stripping and terminating underground cables.
- Exhibit the ability to perform physical tasks involving prolonged standing, sitting, crouching, and lifting heavy materials exceeding 100 pounds.
- Accurately read and record meter data.
- Operate boom trucks, bucket trucks, and other heavy machinery requiring a valid Texas CDL.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possess an Apprentice Electrical License.
- Hold a valid CDL.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
- Preferred experience of at least 1 year in a related field.
- Availability for travel and flexibility for standby, pre-arranged, or call-out duties.
